Description

IC 239 is a rather small (4 arc-min) spiral galaxy in Andromeda. It s about 30 million light years away.

I tried imaging IC 239 on a windy night. I started with 224 subs (2 minutes) but used only 198 due to star streaks. I found IC239 using Skytools4 (imaging). This computer tool allows me to get a good idea of the objects visible each night, the best time to shoot, and the size of the image (in pixels). I selected IC239 since it is well placed in the night sky.
